Crush on L I N E A G E | week 9 of a Project 52

This week's challenge, L I N E A G E, was photographed and edited on the iPhone. I had just returned from a trip to my childhood neighborhood in Scotland. Lots of memories flooded my return--awash with faint laughter and the smell of coal fires. This was the result of a lineage trip home.

Crush on I Heart Faces Best Face of 2013 Challenge | reno photographer

I Heart Faces was one of the first photo communities that I joined. Five years ago, I looked forward to the weekly challenges and the support of the group. I looked forward to giving and receiving the messages on the blog from fellow members. We've watched each other's families grow through these challenges as many of us feature our own children in the challenges. This month's challenge is the best face of 2013. My favorite is of Ruby during our Antelope Lake, California camping trip.

When I think of renew, I imagine fresh beginnings and water. In the winter, we make our annual pilgrimage to hot springs to  cleanse and feel revived. We welcome the new year with snow falling on us and melting into the rich sulphuric hot waters of the pool.
