Crush on Spring Photography

Spring has always been my favorite time of year in Nevada. Unpredictable and always a time of sweeping changes. Our  calendar becomes ridiculously booked and I thank the stars for the longer days to get it all done.  Here's a quick visual synopsis of the goings on at Skye Snyder Photography:
Birthdays. Lots and lots of birthday candles...
Happy Birthday, Marz { six }
Happy Birthday, Brady { one }
 Happy Birthday, Caleb { one }

Happy Birthday, Hayes { two }
 Happy Birthday, Isa { two }
Happy Birthday, Olivia { one }
And births waiting to happen...

Crush on Spring Winner

It's official. Spring has sprung in our backyard and the winner of the SPRING HAS SPRUNG Photo Contest has been chosen.
The entrants' photos were posted in a Facebook album where I asked the Skye Snyder Photography members to vote on their favorites to help me choose the winning image. The member favorite was of Vivian, a garden fairy, who got caught on film by Hanna Felix. Just a glimpse of her magical wings make it into the frame. A fleeting moment. Isn't that what photography is all about? A simple moment that seems magical enough to photograph.
I like the dreamy quality, the garden pieces, and newly growing grass, and that Fairy Vivian is moving out of the frame as a shy fairy would do. I, too, love this celebration of spring.
Hannah, CONGRATULATIONS. You have won the SPRING Photography Contest. You will receive a complimentary June mini-session. Please RSVP to claim your prize. Leave a post on the Facebook wall   to claim it. Please claim within 7 days, otherwise the prize will be granted to the runner-up.

Crush on Newborns in the Outdoors

I cannot remember the last time that my "in box" of images was empty. I am completely caught up. Christmas prints are delivered to all my clients and I have a week to organize. This is a Christmas miracle. I want to start this personal celebration with some of the photos that I never had time to share with you during the year.
Meet Baby Audrey. I had the pleasure of photographing her Mom and Dad while pregnant, Aubrey's first pro shoot, and the entire clan this year.

Crush on Now and Then

I photographed this family a few years back when the little girls were wee. We did a two part session at the park and at their home.  I thought I would shoot off a few more after stumbling upon the perfect light in Mom and Dad's room.  Those ended up being my favorite.
that was then...
this is now...
this is now...
that was then and now...
i'm sure it will be a very merry christmas...very, very soon.
i cannot wait to meet the new babe in 2011.
Please share your comments below...i love them. happy holidays to all.
